Sewing Classes

Sip n’ Sew is a relaxed, beginner-friendly sewing class designed to help you build practical skills you can use every day. Held on Saturday mornings from 10:00–11:00 AM, this small-group class focuses on simple alterations and mending techniques that help your clothes fit better and last longer. For $14.99 per class, you’ll enjoy hands-on instruction in a supportive setting—plus coffee, tea, and light snacks. With only five students per session, Sip n’ Sew offers personalized guidance as you learn essentials like sewing on buttons, pinning your own clothes, mending holes, and basic hand-stitching. Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to feel more confident handling small clothing fixes at home.

  • Not only is Shavon amazingly talented, she’s always up for a challenge or a fun idea! At the last minute I had an idea to dress my dog in a Queen’s cape for the Woofston Salem fashion show to represent my dog training business.   • Even though she has a hard-to-fit body shape, my 3 year old granddaughter wanted to look pretty in some tailor-made dresses that are as cute as she is! Shavon delighted us by making some twirly skirts and sewing them onto the bibs of overalls I had in my granddaughter's size. Meeting us at the fabric store, Shavon helped the excited little girl pick out the perfect fabric for her project. Then she went above and beyond in creativity when she used leftover scraps of our strawberry-print fabric to make us adorable little strawberry appliqués to cover the logos on the overall bibs. The third project for my little cherub was a glorious sparkly two-layer skirt with matching suspenders that she wore to preschool on Daddy-Donut day. Shavon searched the internet to find sweet little iridescent buckles for the suspenders to match the blue and purple of the skirt layers. More than just an excellent tailor, Shavon really puts her heart into her work. We couldn't be happier!
